Software Quality Test Assessment

This service goes one step deeper than the Lean Quality Assessment. We start the information gathering process with the similar activities of the SQA, with the same principles. We then include more energy into analysing the technical details of the testing strategy, test definitions, test implementations and test executions.

The focus of this service is to expand the research activities by collecting more technical details of the current quality-related obstacles. All the information collected during those activities is precious to support all other decisions about the right quality strategy for the organisation.

To maximise the benefits of this service, we propose more specific technical collaboration sessions with the development team. Within those sessions, we offer concepts and tools to improve the quality culture from the first interactions. Thus, while doing this technical assessment, we start sharing tips, ideas and quality-related literature to enhance the organisation’s quality culture from day one.

The outcome of this S.Q.Test Assessment will be a more in-depth report regarding the quality problems within processes. In much more detail, we aim to highlight the limitations preventing the organisation from reaching higher quality levels of the software delivered to the end-users.

Usual estimated time: 75h

Type of activities:

  • Same as QA Assessment plus the following.
  • Planning technical sessions with team members.
  • Collect technical documentation and code samples for the final report.
  • Introduction to software quality processes and specialised tooling.

Sample questions:

  • In what format needs to be presented the test results?
  • How often do we need to provide test results?
  • How will testers accommodate changes of scope?
  • What confidence can we have in these sources?

Goals:

  • Provide a more accurate level within the Test Maturity Model.
  • Understanding where we are is the answer to knowing where we want to go.
  • Provide the foundations about Software Quality concepts and literature..
  • Highlight technical deficiencies which directly impact performance and quality.

Based on the particular organisational needs, we can quickly agree on more specific goals for the assessment.
